I have the hour to forward accompanying letter with 4 enclosures from the Surveyor General, showing the variety of services which have been executed without being submitted to your Lordship.
I do not know whether it is intended by the Colonial Regulations that services of whatever description performed by the Surveyor General's department are to be submitted for the approval of the Right Honorable The Secretary of State for the Colonies, but apprehending that such approval may be necessary and not having hitherto
